Bondi to Clovelly

The first day in Sydney after landing at 6am. A lovely sunny Saturday. We decided that some moderate exercise in combination with sunshine and sea view would be the best way to stay awake. After a quick shower we hailed a taxi and went to Bondi beach. In search for food (not sure to have breakfast, lunch or dinner?) we ended up at the reputable Icebergs and had a lovely seafood lunch sitting at the terrace with a view over Bondi Beach. After lunch we walked along the shoreline from Bondi to Clovelly beach. Gorgeous views! Ulrica went for a swim at Tamarama Bay (Harriet’s recommendation for fighting the jet lag). A bit over 20oC in the water. Just like August in Sweden.

At Stu's and Fi's

Stuart picked us up at Clovelly and we went to their place for drinks and dinner. We have not seen Marcus and Callum for over a year and they are big boys now. When we arrived at Stu’s and Fi’s a big flock of Kakadus had landed in a tree. Very noisy! They even had a possum on “display” for us in a tree.

City sightseeing

We ended up a Circular Quay and after a late breakfast/lunch walked around a bit to enjoy the views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera house. We hopped on a ferry for a tour of the Harbour. In the evening we got to enjoy a “Hong Kong style” thunderstorm with torrential rain. The kind we do not seem to get in Europe.

You obviously concentrate on the Aussie animal section at Taronga.
Koalas does not seem to be an overly clever design but they are cute.
